ING-DiBA #SHUTUPANDPLAY 2015 Berlin – The big final

Berlin was the last tour stop of ING-DiBa #SHUTUPANDPLAY 2015. The national champions were crowned in all 7 categories. First and foremost, a big THANK YOU to everyone who stuck with us through the rain. The weather wasn’t always perfect during this year’s tour but we won’t complain. After all, the motto is “Shut up and play!” And the players delivered. Everybody showed great hustle and put on an awesome show for the fans and passers-by right in front of Berlin main station.

However, what dwarfed everything on this weekend was Sunday’s slam dunk contest featuring an all-star cast of Dunk Elite pros. Rafal ‘Lipek’ Lipinski, Jordan ‘Mission Impossible’ Kilganon, Justin ‘Jus Fly’ Darlington and Dmitry ‘Smoove’ Krivenko all came out to represent the K1X-sponsored dunk squad. The line-up was completed by  Salu Tadi and Munich winner Arek ‘Aro’ Przybylski. They all wanted to win and impress the huge crowd. This resulted in one of the best contests we’ve seen in a while. You don’t believe us? Check out the highlight video below.

In the end, it was a very close call and we wouldn’t wanna be in the jury’s shoes. The final between ‘Lipek’ and ‘Mission Impossible’ went into double-overtime. Rafael Lipinski showed a 360-through-the-legs-over-4-guys  dunk and … didn’t win. This might tell you a little bit about the quality of the contest. Some of the dunks even made it on Bleacher Report. All hail the champ, Jordan Kilganon!

The whole tour was a great experience for us. We had tons of fun and wanna thank everybody who celebrated the game of basketball with us. A big thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the players, dunkers, volunteers, dancers, rappers, DJs, spectators and partners! And a big shoutout to our marketing intern Jan who went on to study (aka party) in San Diego.

It’s a wrap. See y’all next year! #SHUTUPANDPLAY
