The Clippers went to China this summer and this is where CP3 fittingly donned this particular colorway of the CP3.IX when they played the Charlotte Hornets in Shanghai. On the court as well as on the streets the vibrant colors really pop. They are inspired by the dragon dance often seen in festive celebrations in China. The Yellow Dragon is also known for his intelligence which perfectly fits the “floor general” mentality and play style of Chris Paul. Basketball is on the rise in China and while many think that the NBA sends the teams and players over just for marketing purposes, Clippers coach Doc Rivers thinks that the trip actually helped the team. With 9 new players joining in the off-season the title contenders from the City of Angels had to grow together. “I said this in Shenzhen, I think if things go the way we want them to go and we’re the champions, hopefully, we’re going to look back on this trip to China and say this is one of the main reasons that allowed us to come together. So this has really been a good trip for us.”
