It’s finally here! In the year of its 30th anniversary Jordan finally brings back the Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” – one of the 4 original colorways released in 1991. There has never been a re-release of the Off White/New Maroon color combo before! What gets Jordan fans even more excited is that the kicks come back with the original Nike Air branding on the heel and sockliner instead of the Jumpman logo used for previous retros. Check below for on-feet and detail shots as well as all the release info.
Michael Jordan wore the AJ VI on the road to his first championship in 1991. He played an incredible Finals series versus the Los Angeles Lakers. These were actually the first NBA Finals in the Chicago Bulls’ franchise history. Alongside MJ Scottie Pippen had developed into an All-Star which helped elevate their game. One of the most memorable moments from the matchup with the Lakers was Jordan avoiding getting blocked on a dunk attempt by Sam Perkins by switching hands in mid-air and going for a breathtaking lay-up instead. The Bulls ended the season with an impressive 15-2 playoff record.
