What if? What if Michael Jordan had Player Exclusive (PE) colorways of his early Air Jordans back in the days? Jordan Brand started this experiment with the release of the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate 89” and the AJ 5 “Alternate 90” earlier this year. The new Air Jordan II “Alternate 87” is the third and final sneaker in this mini series. Though it was still a long way to Michael’s first NBA championship he was able to score an important achievement in his young career by winning the 1987 Slam Dunk Contest in his second signature shoe.
The Alternate take on the sneakers offers a color palette inspired by the alternate colors of the Chicago Bulls: black and red. The black leather looks smooth with snakeskin print on the side panels and the red details really pop.
