The NBA All-Star Weekend is over and we witnessed some great entertainment throughout the last couple of days. We saw some things to remember in all events that took place. Fans had complained that the NBA All-Star Weekend lost its special character in the last couple of years but this year the stars put on a great show to bring the magic back. Social media went crazy and the fans already call it one of the best All-Star weekends in history. We put together a recap for those of you who missed it or just want to relive the events.
Celebrity Game Recap
Friday night the Canadian celebrities coached by no other than Drizzy Drake challenged Kevin Hart’s team USA. Last year’s MVP with the Napoleon complex wasn’t to happy with his team’s performance so after a furious time-out speech he decided to take action with a comeback as a player to lead his team on court. It didn’t really work out as the Canadians won the game 74 – 64. Win Butler, front singer of Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire, was named MVP finishing the game with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Rising Stars Challenge Recap
The NBA Rising Stars Challenge showcased the talents and future super stars of the league. It is good to see how much potential these young bloods have. We will have a lot of fun watching these guys in the following years. Kristaps Porzingis scored 30 points for the world team but Zach LaVine won the MVP for leading team USA with 30 points and 7 rebounds to its 157 – 154 win.

Skills Challenge Contest Recap
Let’s be honest. A big man winning the Skills Challenge against some of the most versatile guards in the league. I didn’t really think that was possible. But Karl-Anthony Towns proved me wrong. He managed to win the final round against Isaiah Thomas in a thrilling competition.

Three Point Contest Recap
The best sharp shooters of the league competed in the Three Point Contest on Saturday night. Not surprisingly the splash brothers moved on to the final round. Everybody expected Stephen Curry to win but Klay Thompson’s shooting was on point and he took over the title from his team mate.

NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2016 Recap
By far the most spectacular event this weekend was the Slam Dunk Contest. Zach LaVine had shown some incredible dunks last year so everyone knew about his potential. But this year he topped it off with an unreal athletic and artistic performance. So did his contender Aaron Gordon. The up and coming star from the Orlando Magic had the best dunk in the contest but did not win the jury’s favor. LaVine became the back-to-back slam dunk champion. You can write about it but you have to see the spectacular airshow. And even after watching you won’t believe that it really happened. Here we go.

NBA All-Star Game Recap
The main event took place on Sunday night. Kobe Bryant’s last All-Star Game ever. The league and all players present payed tribute to the Black Mamba but despite the melancholy the entertainment wasn’t left out. The final score of 196 – 173 set a new record for the highest score in an All-Star game ever. Russell Westbrook was named MVP leading the West to the win with 31 points and 8 rebounds. All players fed Kobe the ball to make him score and have a chance to win his 5th All-Star MVP but he declined and let others steal the show.

Side Stories
Last but not least we would like to tell two side stories of the weekend. There was a second slam dunk contest for the kids. Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kyle Lowry’s daughter and Chris Paul junior had their very own contest.
All-Star Kids Slam Dunk Contest
And we have to talk about Kevin Hart once again. His battle with Draymond Green on social media raised expectations about what was going to happen between those two at the weekend. In a three point shoot out Green did not embarrass himself on the big stage and won the competition easily. Michael Buffer the world famous boxing announcer presented the shoot out with his unique voice which made the contest epic. Plus, Green did not miss to humiliate the comedian by holding on to a trophy that was bigger than Kevin Hart.
