Air Jordan 17+ Retro “Copper” release info and on-feet shots

In 2001, Michael Jordan announced his second and final comeback from retirement. Many people doubted if the G.O.A.T. still had it in him, being already 38 years old when he joined the Washington Wizards. The short answer: Oh yes! Offensively, he was still a beast. So experienced that he fooled his defenders countless times and still explosive enough to cut to the basket in unmatched elegance. With 51 points vs. the Hornets he practically vaporized the previous record for a 38-year old.

So what about defense? Sure, he maybe didn’t jump as high anymore. But he knew how to figure out his opponents. When the Wizards faced the Toronto Raptors Michael had to go up against one of the hottest players at the time: Vince Carter. Vinsanity went off to a tremendous start, scoring 19 points in the first quarter. That bugged Michael. And he just couldn’t let this happen. So in the second half MJ completely shut Vince down. Carter didn’t score a single point. Mike limited him to only 4 shot attempts with a nearly perfect display of off-ball D.

Of course, with MJ it wasn’t only the question of how he played but also “What did he wear?” For his second comeback Jordan laced up the brand-new Air Jordan 17. The sneakers sported a luxurious look, inspired by Aston Martin automobiles. You can find exotically embossed leather at the top of the tongue as well as wrapping around the heel. Furthermore, the sneakers were inspired by the improvisation of Jazz music – which perfectly resembles how MJ acted on the court. Metallic copper accents can be found on the heel, the eyelets and and logo details. To finish off this remastered version of the OG colorway there are blue accents on the outsole and the lace lock.
