Air Jordan 10 Retro NYC release info

After the release of the Europe-exclusive AJ X Paris a couple of weeks back, Jordan Brand is set to continue its City Pack on April, 27. This time around the Big Apple receives the honor of acting as inspiration for an Air Jordan 10 colorway.

The Air Jordan 10 Retro “NYC” features a matt black leather upper. The NYC script is embroidered on the side of the collar in golden thread so that it really stands out. Another eye-catching element on this sneaker are the golden speckles which have been worked into the outsole. The bottom of the outsole features ten of Michael Jordan’s greatest achievements during the first part of his NBA career. As you all already know the AJ 10 first released when MJ had quit basketball. In contrast to the Air Jordan 9, however, this is also the shoe in which he returned to the NBA and thus one of the shoes he actually played in.

Actually, it was in New York that MJ returned to former strength just 5 games into his comeback, scoring 55 points versus the Knicks. This Air Jordan 10 is not a reminder of the Knickerbockers’ humiliation though. Instead it’s about honoring a great city with a special connection to Mike.
