GET THE NIKE ZOOM KD X AT KICKZ.COM!
Ten years ago, a skinny teenager from Washington D.C. entered the NBA as the second Draft Pick of the Seattle SuperSonics. This same kid, seen as probably the best rookie in the Draft Class of 2007, was soon signed by Nike. The first signature shoe followed quickly and the Nike KD 1 was introduced to the basketball world in 2008. A decade later, the eight times NBA All-Star, Olympic Gold Medalist, MVP and newest weapon of the NBA Finalist, the Golden State Warriors, has another big milestone to celebrate: The Zoom KD X.
Innovativ. Stylish. Comfortable. Three words, expressed by none other than the Durantula himself, describe KD‘s tenth signature shoe with Nike. The Zoom KD X is the outcome of hard work, boundless commitment and absolute creativity. Durant worked closely with his design team, a collaboration already enduring ten years of innovation. Releasing the KD1 back in the days was not only a special moment for the Forward of the Dubs, but for the Swoosh as well. A risk paid off – signing the Rookie and developing a signature basketball line that would later on be one of the most coveted lines in our century.

Within Durant’s course is a consistent, subtle refinement of pure basketball efficiencies and mechanics. Engineered precisely for flexibility, breathability and support where needed, the Flyknit construction is the best one yet on a basketball shoe. Kevin Durant took the inspiration of the Flyknit Racer, given during the 2012 games in London, to designer Leo Chang and the Nike team and together, they engineered the most advanced Flyknit mixing low stretch, high tenacity yarn at stress points and a high stretch yarn at the collar and across the forefoot.
While this blend yields a perfect balance of basketball-specific support and a sock-like hug, the unconventional lacing system has been designed to keep the foot snugly supported to the midsole. The rather big laces, covering most of the forefoot, have been given a lot of attention by Chang and Durant. Heel-to-toe Flyknit and the laces are the key for the KD X. The knit structure was designed precisely to create small gullies that would later on fit the lacing system. A move that paid off.
An excellent cushioning system must not lack with the tenth KD as well. Luckily, the Swoosh developed the Nike Zoom Air a few years ago, which earned the reputation as Nike‘s best basketball air bag. Therefore, the Swoosh equipped the signature shoe with a full-length Nike Zoom Air unit. Consisting of light, highly reactive and very thin air chambers, the Nike Zoom fibers bring the foot very close to the floor and make for maximum comfort and aggressive flexibility – fast cuts and multidirectional moves know no boundaries with this cushioning.
„I‘m going to be real as hell and show you who I am, because I want the kids to see who I really am and the basketball players to see who I reallly am, and that‘s all that matters to me. I‘m just content with myself, happy with myself. I believe I‘m enough, you know what I‘m saying? I don‘t have to be anybody I‘m not. I‘m going to show you my faults, I‘m going to show you my insecurities, I‘m going to be real.“
The KD X „Still KD“ drops on June 6th at KICKZ.com. The white performance shoe with silver and grey suede details will be the perfect sneaker for maximum performance on court and a stylish statement off court. Cop a pair of Kevin Durant‘s tenth signature here.
